Help train future public health leaders.

Support UW Epidemiology Students

After all, epidemiologists are the new rockstars.

The University of Washington Department of Epidemiology (UW Epi) researchers and students have been at the forefront of our community's response to the coronavirus pandemic. The Epi Excellence Fund is a direct way for donors to contribute toward enhancing the UW Epi student experience and training future public health leaders.

The Epi Excellence Fund provides benefits for students, faculty, alumni, staff, and our partners by bringing people together to discuss ideas and elevate UW Epi within the field. Additionally, this fund helps support the Epidemiology Department's commitments to anti-racism, and efforts to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) throughout our teaching, mentoring, research, administration, outreach and practice.

As we continue to see increasing interest in our graduate programs, we hope to attract and support students and faculty candidates from marginalized backgrounds. The Epi Excellence Fund allows us to host in-person and virtual events in collaboration with our vibrant and active EDI committee. For example, our annual Diversity Dinner during Visit Days, allows newly-admitted students to connect with current students and to learn about resources available to support their success in graduate school.

Support for the Epi Excellence Fund can help us expand opportunities like these to build a diverse and inclusive learning environment. As we look ahead to a safe return to campus, and settling into UW Epi's new home in the Hans Rosling Center for Population Health, your financial gift will be instrumental for our students and our community.
