Emergency Student Support
Since last academic year, significant changes have taken place in our world and our School. In the face of adversity, our students have adapted to much - from volunteering in COVID-19 vaccination sites to adjusting to online learning – and yet they remain resilient. For some students, their own or their family’s livelihood has been impacted, affecting their ability to pay for rent, groceries and tuition.
Your gift to the Fathi Family Endowed Emergency Support for Nursing Students enables us to provide unrestricted resources to undergraduate and graduate students who have immediate financial need. Award amounts vary but are typically a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. These funds can make a crucial difference in our students' choice to continue their studies.
You can make an impact today:
$25 - purchases one Sphygomanometer (blood pressure cuff)
$40 - purchases one pair of scrubs for a nursing student
$65 - covers wifi needed to attend classes for one month
$120 - covers the cost of a stethoscope
$200 – the cost of requred lab kits for students
$500 – offsets the cost of rent/childcare for one month
Support from our community of alumni and friends is needed now more than ever as students continue to face insecurity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we can ensure that our students have the opportunity to lead and innovate in nursing care, practice and research at the UW School of Nursing.
