Help us transform inequitable systems of education
At the University of Washington College of Education, we believe every child in every school deserves an outstanding education. Our diverse community of faculty, students, alumni and staff work every day to achieve that vision by addressing the persistent achievement and opportunity gaps that exist in our schools. We engage in bold, collaborative partnerships, practices and research to reimagine education as accessible and equitable.
Our transformative work relies on the generous support of people and organizations who share our commitment to making excellent and equitable education a daily reality for all students in Washington and across the country.
Now, more than ever, our focus remains on the wellbeing of our students, including their ability to continue their studies at the College during this unprecedented period of global hardship. With your gift on Husky Giving Day, you can ensure our community will have a pipeline of innovative educators and leaders needed to advance educational justice.
Please support our College and students by making a gift to one of our priorities listed below:
- COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund: Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many University of Washington students have lost jobs, or are supporting family members who lost jobs, and are navigating how to pay education and living expenses. Some students also face an immediate food, housing or family health crisis. Responding to these urgent needs, College supporters can give to the UW College of Education's COVID-19 Emergency Student Fund. Throughout the pandemic this fund has helped keep students' education on track by covering parts of tuition, books, technology, housing, childcare or medical costs.
- Teacher Candidate Emergency Fund: Our aspiring educators are facing unique challenges right now as they learn to become teachers in a changing remote learning landscape. Through the global pandemic, UW College of Education teacher education students are continuing to learn culturally relevant and evidence-based best practices from faculty and gain experience partnering with expert mentor teachers to support K-12 learners across Puget Sound. Your gift to the COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund allows them to continue their studies unabated by providing emergency funds to cover tuition, books, technology, housing, childcare or medical costs.
Thank you!
